'Tis the season to spread around all that money you've been socking away this year! Here's a great website to help you give it away with confidence. This site is invaluable for identifying the really good guys, i.e.the non-profit charities that walk the walk, that have their financial house in order, and that see to it that your contributions end up where you intend them to go, i.e. towards program services and not to administrative or marketing costs. [You will be stunned - and not a little miffed - at the outlandish "expenses" and salaries reported on many of the listed "non-profits."]
IA HIV Pledge: The continuing HIV pandemic devastating Africa is especially disturbing in that so many children are effected, and the cycle of disease and dislocation seems to continue, unabated. So...this year, along with our regular year-end contributions based on sales, we are donating 75% of direct sales from our HIV necktie and scarf designs to PATH, a four-star rated (highly efficient) international non-profit dedicated to creating sustainable, culturally relevant solutions to long-standing cycles of poor health. 3. SPEAKING OF DINOSAURS...
Although slightly off the edge of our Petri dish, we couldn't resist taking up the challenge from the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, MT, for a custom design of - holy Jurassic - TYRANNOSAURUS rex! Yes, it's the Big Guy, or at least a hugely colorful representation of an original bone scan slide produced by folks at the Museum. This is a proprietary, copyrighted design that we liked so much, we licensed permission from the Museum to sell on our site. You simply must have one of these for the next time you go grazing tree tops!
