|
Esherichia coli bacteria are common inhabitants of the human intestinal tract. Certain strains, however, can be highly pathogenic (0157:H7) and deadly serious. E. coli can be spread via contaminated veggies, undercooked and contaminated beef, unpasteurized milk and juice. Food workers need to be especially careful to implement good hygiene (WASH HANDS!) and Dad needs to be sure he cooks the burgers thoroughly - which isn't pretty, but it IS important to kill the little coli. ![]() Giant Microbes¨ are an awareably great way to introduce serious public health issues to young (and young at heart), tackling tough subjects with a bit of twinkle. They may skew the approach a little, but not the message: that awareness is important, no matter what age the awaree! These fuzzy little critters go a long way to break down barriers and make the subject matter less threatening. AndÉTHEY ARE REALLY FUN! Note: Each 5 Ð 7 inch doll is made of surface washable polyester, accompanied by both image and information on the colorful tags. Great educational and awareness opportunities for parents, educators, you and yours. |
