Helicobacter pylori (Ulcers) are gram negative bacteria associated with duodenal ulcers. Historically, ulcers were linked to stress, until that is, some doctors proved that gastritis inflammation was related to infection. Ulcers are still no laughing matter, but can now be treated with antibiotics. Stress, on the other hand, will require some chilling out!  Giant Microbes¨ are an awareably great way to introduce serious public health issues to young (and young at heart), tackling tough subjects with a bit of twinkle. They may skew the approach a little, but not the message: that awareness is important, no matter what age the awaree!
