TB (Tuberculosis) is an age-old bacterial pathogen transmitted by airborne droplets and remains the greatest infectious killer in the history of man. It can be sneaky, in that infection may occur with no symptoms, but active disease can develop at a later date. TB has reemerged to pose a serious global threat, and causes millions of fatalities, annually. Its multi-drug resistant form is especially dangerous and growing more wide-spread, so it's very important that drug treatments are carried out completely, with no short cuts.  Giant Microbes¨ are an awareably great way to introduce serious public health issues to young (and young at heart), tackling tough subjects with a bit of twinkle.
